Oral Language Project

As Incredible Years Teacher (IYT) programme facilitators we can provide teachers with approaches to help create a more positive learning environment for their students.

IYT is based on strengthening teacher classroom management strategies, promoting children's pro social behaviour and school readiness. 

As BSLA facilitators, we can provide support to implement the Better Start Literacy Approach in your school.

BSLA is a culturally responsive structured literacy approach that is supported by the Ministry of Education and provided by University of Canterbury. The approach is evidence based using New Zealand research data.

Universal Design for Learning is (UDL) is a teaching approach that works to accommodate the needs and abilities of all learners and removes unnecessary hurdles in the learning process. This means developing a flexible learning environment in which information is presented in multiple ways, students engage in learning in a variety of ways, and students are provided options when demonstrating their learning.

There are many different structured literacy programmes available in New Zealand. For example, Alpha to Omega, iDeal, and The Code. 

We are happy to support you to select the best programme for your school and/or assist teachers to implement.
