Practice Team

I have been teaching for 40 years in the Primary sector and as a Teacher of the Deaf both in Auckland and here in Northland.  I have worked as an RTLB since 2009 with a two year period with the Ministry of Education as an Advisor of Deaf Children.  I currently work closely with three Liaison schools and am in the Kaikohekohe Team.

Having 44 years of teaching experience, both in New Zealand and the UK.  I love this role as an RTLB.  Every day is different and the opportunity to work beside great educators and wonderful whanau teams is a privilege.  Currently I'm a liaison in three schools, Totara North, Riverview and Opua. 

Outside of work I love catching up with my family, gardening, swimming, listening to music, visiting beaches and reading.  I have even rejoined a gym so hope to become a wee bit fitter.

I have been teaching for many years in Te Tai Tokerau, where I have seen the important role that whānau and the wider community play in supporting tamariki with their learning, growth, and development. I value these relationships and enjoy working collaboratively with everyone involved to create positive and lasting changes for our tamariki. 

Outside of work I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy creating art and being in the bush or by the ocean.
